MANILA – Malaya Watson, the perky Tuba player from Southfield High School in Michigan, advanced to the next round of American Idol Season 13.
Watson, along with Dexter Roberts and Jessica Meuse, were the first contestants to learn of their fate on the show during the reveal on Thursday (Friday in Manila).
"The two of you will be heading in different directions," Idol host Ryan Seacreast told Watson and Dexter after Meuse was sent back to the coach.
In the end, Roberts ended up as the first contestants to sit on the Bottom 3. The two others who joined him there were Majesty Rose and MK Nobilette. However, it was Nobilette who was eliminated from the show.
On Thursday, Watson got the praises from all three judges—Jennifer Lopez, Keith Urban, and Harry Connick Jr., for her rendition of fellow Fil-Am singer Bruno Mar's "When I Was Your Man".
