REDWOOD CITY, California – Residents of Bakersfield, California are calling for public support to help rebuild an orphanage in Angeles City gutted by fire.
Founders of the Send the Light Orphanage in Angeles City believe the fire started from a faulty electric fan.
The orphanage, which was funded mostly by residents of Bakersfield, housed 44 boys and girls ages 1 to 17. It also has eight staff members.
Representatives said the displaced children will be moved into a recently constructed girls’ home until the orphanage is rebuilt.
