SAUDI ARABIA – A Filipino overseas worker in the Assir Region has finally won his court case, four years after he was paralyzed in a vehicular accident.

Ernesto Panganiban won the case of reckless driving leading to grave physical injury and life sustainability which he filed against a driver.

An accident in Abha Center in April 2010 caused Panganiban to become permanently paralyzed.

The court ordered the driver, whose name was not disclosed in the report, to pay the damages he sustained.

Panganiban suffered cervical injury paralysis as a result of the accident. The former OFW could no longer stand up and has difficulty eating, as well as moving his hands and feet.

"Kaya kahit ganito ang inabot ko andyan kayo na nagpapalakas sa akin although marami taong dinaaanan medyo matagal may 4 years na," he said.

Panganiban is grateful for the help of the King, the OFW group Patnubay, the media and fellow OFWs who assisted him throughout the four years while the case was being heard in court.

"Kung tutuusin yung desiyon ng court kulang pa yun sa nangyari sa akin," he said.

After attaining justice, Panganiban is now looking forward to coming home to his family in the Philippines. Report from Andy Relox, ABS-CBN Middle East News Bureau
