MANILA – Filipino-Norwegian Anne Line Gjersem finished 23rd overall in the figure skating event at the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi, Russia.
Gjersem is the first Norwegian and only figure skater to qualify in the Olympic event after 50-years.
Gjersem had a total score of 134.54 points.
During the short program, Gjersem took the last spot with a score of 48.56 points while she got the 22nd spot in the free program and earned a score of 85.98.
Gjersem clinched Norway’s place in the event at the Nebelhorn Trophy in Obertstdorf in September last year when she placed seventh among other figure skaters from 35 countries.
She broke into the international scene last year by placing first in the European Championship, and clinched a qualification to the World Championship.
Gjersem and her twin sister Camilla are the biggest figure skating stars in Norway.
