AL-KHOBAR, Saudi Arabia - A Pinay beautician in Dammam is appealing for help from her kababayans in Saudi Arabia and in other countries to raise funds for the heart operation of her 20-year old son in the Philippines.

Josefina Ricafrente of General Trias, Cavite needs P800,000 for her son Bernard's operation at the Philippine Heart Center in Manila.

She is selling chicken tocino in the street of Al-Khobar during weekends to augment her income and to be able to defray her son’s expenses on checkups and medicines.

She said she is not ashamed of selling chicken tocino because it is a dignified job.

According to her, her son needs immediate medical attention but she has no money to pay for the operation.

As a show of support, some kababayans purchased Ricafrente’s chicken tocino which costs 10 Riyals per piece.

Nenette Lapuz, a friend and co-worker of Ricafrente, said that she pities Ricafrente but she could not do anything because she herself has a low income. She is urging kababayans to help her.

“Itong kasamahan kong ‘to talagang nakakaawa ‘yan, double time ang ginagawa niya.

Ricafrente’s husband has no permanent job in the Philippines and he is relying on her for their son’s medications.
