TORONTO – Since being crowned Miss Universe Canada 2013, the Calgary-born Riza Santos is embarking on her next project.

The Filipino-Canadian beauty can hit the target using a C7 service rifle when she served in the armed forces. This time, Santos proves she can also hit her notes in the studio.

"I've always loved singing. This is a really good fit now working with Kuya Productions," Santos said.

Santos is collaborating with Kuya Productions, an award-winning Canadian duo, consisting of brothers Sammy Blues and Bobby Brass, to produce her first single in Toronto.

They met at last year's Canada Philippine Fashion Week and have since worked together on song-writing.

The Grammy-nominated team have worked with some of today's biggest artists like Shawn Desman, Nelly, and now off to launch Santos as a recording star.

"It's really fun. She's definitely an interesting person with a dynamic background," said Sammy Blues.

The two brothers also reunited with their group Kuya along with Johann and Jayson Camat, after a 10-year hiatus.

They chose Santos as the model for their music video.
