LONDON - A Pinoy teenager recently got to take part in an exclusive basketball skills session in London hosted by three NBA superstars.

Terence Mustre, 19, was among 30 local ballers invited to the event led by New York Knicks players Jason Kidd, Amar'e Stoudemire and Tyson Chandler on January 15.

The 30-minute clinic took place at Nike's Regal Basketball Court at the Black Prince Community Hub in Lambeth, south London.

Kidd, Stoudemire and Chandler had the youngsters doing fitness exercises before guiding them through half-court penetration, dump-off and scoring drills.

A video clip taken during the event by one of the attendees shows Mustre's friend and college teammate Rowell Graham dunking over Stoudemire, who moves away from the basket before impact.

After training, the Knicks players shared stories about their lives as professional players, revealed training tips and gave advice for aspiring athletes.

Mustre admits he was in awe of veteran point guard Jason Kidd, 39, whose NBA career began in 1994 when the Dallas Mavericks drafted him.

"Receiving advice from a future Hall of Famer was a great experience," Mustre said.

"He [Kidd] told us to keep working and training hard. It gives me extra motivation," he added.

The Regal Masterclass Clinic took place ahead of New York's 102-87 regular season win over the Detroit Pistons at London’s O2 Arena on January 17.

Mustre, whose dad is former San Miguel Beerman Mike Mustre, currently plays for three teams: his college Harris Academy and two teams in a west London Pinoy basketball league.

The 5-foot-8 playmaker aims to follow in his father's footsteps by also playing in the PBA (Philippine Basketball Association) one day.

Last year, Steven Bucknall, head coach of England's Under-18 basketball team, told ABS-CBN Europe that Mustre is one of the hottest young point guards in the country.
