MANILA, Philippines - Thirty-nine Filipino workers from Algeria have returned home.

They are the first batch of Filipinos sent home by their employers, citing security concerns in Algeria where a hostage crisis recently took place.

Private Algerian television station Enna-Har reports 25 bodies have been discovered by the Algerian army at the gas facility attacked by militants in the desert.

The bodies are believed to be those of the hostages executed by the militants.

Their identities have yet to be disclosed. Thirty-two militants were reportedly killed.

CNN reports that around 685 Algerian workers and 107 foreigners were freed, citing the Algerian Interior Ministry.
