MANILA, Philippines – An exhibit featuring photos taken by professional and amateur overseas Filipino photographers is now ongoing at the SSS main building along East Avenue in Quezon City.

The photos displayed in the exhibit are the winning entries of the international photo contest conducted by the Social Security System-Pinoy Expats/OFW Blog Awards.
With the contest dubbed “Miyembro, Bilib kami sa’yo”, the SSS on its 55th anniversary, recognizes its members overseas who made sacrifices to provide for a more secure future for their families.
The entries depicted the hard work and sacrifices of Filipinos all over the world. A total of 34 entries were submitted coming from different parts of the globe like Malaysia, Pakistan, Gulf or Middle East countries, and Africa among others.
Lino Almuenda bagged the first prize. He is currently based in Islamabad in Pakistan. The second prize went to Andres O. Pasilan Jr., of Oman, while Mario Cardenas of United Arab Emirates got the third prize.
Meanwhile, the most popular photo went to Israel-based Maricor Regidor for having garnered most likes and shares on facebook. All the winners received cash prizes and certificates.
Formally opened last Dec 15, 2012, the exhibit also coincided with the 5th Annual PEBA International Blog and Photo Awards Ceremony.
The exhibition will run until Friday, January 11, at the SSS Gallery located at the 2nd floor of SSS Main Building in East Avenue, Quezon City.
