MANILA, Philippines – Twenty-two overseas Filipino workers from the northwestern Syrian city of Aleppo will be arriving in Manila on Tuesday evening.
The first batch of repatriates for 2013 will arrive at 10:15 p.m. at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport Terminal 1.
The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) said the repatriates travelled by land to Beirut’s Rafic International Airport where they boarded a Qatar Airways flight (QR 423) to Doha then took another flight (QR 644) to Manila.
The DFA said that their arrival will bring the total number of repatriates to 3,310.
Meanwhile, the DFA is urging Filipinos who are still in Syria to avail of the mandatory repatriation program of the government as the security situation in the country continues to deteriorate.
