How many Filipino centenarians are there and where are they?
Filipino centenarians across the country will have something to celebrate for and something to celebrate with.
By virtue of the Centenarians Act of 2016, declaring October 1 National Respect for Centenarians Day, Filipino senior citizens 100-years old and above will be honored by their respective Local Government Units (LGUs) and will receive P100,000 from the national government.
In addition, they will receive other perks and privileges from the LGUs both in their capacity as senior citizens and as Centenarians.
October 1 to 7 is being celebrated as Filipino Elderly Week, or Linggo ng Katandaang Filipino. Here are their perks and benefits as compiled by the ABS-CBN Investigative and Research Group.
