PNP hotline account delights Twittersphere
MANILA - Philippine Twitter users have found a new pastime: asking questions to the official Twitter account of the Philippine National Police (PNP) Hotline and receiving some amusing responses.
Chief Superintendent Reuben Theodore Sindac, PNP Public Information chief, said the @PNPhotline account is meant to increase accessibility to the police through real-time responses.
The account also promotes "Ireport Mo Kay TSIP SMS - 0917-8472757" to report crime incidents for immediate police action.
Some of the questions posted on the @PNPhotline account concerned legitimate concerns such as robberies, other crimes and even gun license renewals.
However, some silly questions have received some amusing responses.
Example: Why do policemen always arrive late in teleseryes?
Answer: Because the producers don't know the number of the police.
Or how about this pick-up line from the account:
"Snatcher ka ba? Kasi lagi kitang hinahanap-hanap eh..."
One Twitter user asked Philippine police where to find justice for King Joffrey Baratheon, a major character in the HBO series "Game of Thrones."
Ever wondered why some policemen are fat? The PNPhotline account finally gives an answer: stress.
Money problems? The PNPhotline account also has an answer.
The PNP also set the record straight about how a policeman gives love.
In one response, the PNP also explains when loving someone can be a crime.
The account also discouraged some people who want to be policemen because they want to meet more women, such as this user.
One incredulous Twitter user asked the PNPhotline account why they answer nonsense questions? The response: Politeness is part of Filipino culture.
