MANILA - Benhur Luy nor any of the whistleblowers in the multi-billion peso "pork barrel" scam has not executed any sworn statement detailing former Senator Loi Estrada's alleged involvement in the scam, according to Justice Secretary Leila de Lima.
Neither has the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) submitted any report linking Mrs. Estrada, wife of former Pres. Joseph Estrada and mother of Sen. Jinggoy Estrada.
Sen. Jinggoy Estrada faces charges for allegedly pocketing millions of his "pork barrel" as kickbacks from businesswoman Janet Lim Napoles for fictitious projects.
De Lima said she will only pursue the issue once any of the whistleblowers execute an affidavit against Mrs. Estrada.
"I haven't seen a new affidavit from Benhur. Pero naririnig ko rin yan, nababanggit nga rin yan na meron din mukhang dealings before but I have not seen any written report on that or a new affidavit na sinasabi ni Benhur,” de Lima said.
"Recently, may nababanggit, but sa akin it has to be something official. What is official? A sworn statment... hindi pwede sinabi lang; I have to see something in writing," she said.
