He's going to be superb. I think nobody knows the Philippines better than Boy Abunda. Contrary to rumors, an entertainer can be the best person for the job. Take the late Ronald Reagan who was previously a B-grade actor and had not won an Oscar. As two-time President of the USA, Ronald Reagan was much loved and revered. He made Americans feel good about themselves, and even dodge an assassin's bullet. Arnold Schwarzenegger was an entertainer too, a former actor, and now, Mayor of California. As entertainer, Mata Hari turned out to be a deadly spy. God alone knows the exact tally of how many heads of state she had decommissioned.

Never underestimate an entertainer. They're astute and pack a punch and make good Ambassadors of Goodwill. Their people skills are spot on and they're quick to see opportunities. Noticeably, Boy Abunda works hard for his art, he's dedicated and delivers on time. He sticks to deadline, articulate and I bet my bottom peso, he can endorse and promote a product like the Philippines to the rest of the world, and also, to our hard-nosed kababayans.
Taking post as Secretary of Tourism would be like moving next door for Boy Abunda. Only this time, the Philippines is his stage.
