I hope Noynoy was only misquoted or the reporters must have asked the wrong question when he assured Lacson of fair treatment once he returns home. He said, “Like any other citizen, he (Lacson) can expect the rule of law will be religiously observed. No one will be favored, no one will be persecuted. So whatever his rights are, that will prevail.”

These are re-assuring motherhood statements that go without saying. Unfortunately, he was looking through the wrong end of the binocular. Noynoy was thinking and talking of the interest of Lacson and overlooked the real people who need his re-assurance: the Dacer and the the Corbito families from whom justice has been so evasive for years. Noynoy can make justice happen, including justice to the victims of the Maguindanao Massacre.

Noynoy should also be advised that not all the enemies of Gloria are now necessarily his friends. He should not spare the rod with coup plotters, rebels, and mutineers like Lim, Querubin and Trillanes; otherwise, he would be transgressing his avowed promise to the people. He should let “Justice for All” take its course in the fastest possible time.
