The proponents of the parallel manual count are schizophrenic. They are seeing ghosts behind every curtain. The anxious Makati Business Club and the Alyansa should have voiced their concern last year while Gordon was still in the process of pushing for automated elections- not at this late time when the system is already in-place, ready to take off.
Seldom does the Comelec get people support but this time the people agree with it that manual count is not only “almost” impossible because it is absolutely impossible. Never mind the inadequate time of two weeks to do it, the budget to implement it, and the people to do it. It is the question in case of discrepancy which count is more credible: the automated or the manual count? Maybe, the bright boys of Makati can answer that.
