It’s the President’s prerogative to help people close to her, even if one of these people happens to be her own manicurist. However, GMA should help them not at the expense of the people’s money. That is not helping but embezzling what is not yours. If the President is really sincere in her desire to repay this woman’s loyalty and give her a break in life, Gloria could easily have used her own money (which she has plenty of) and build the Manicurist her own home or a “Grand Negosyo” beauty parlor.

To be a manicurist is a decent job, but for a manicurist to sit as a Board Member of the Pag-ibig will only humiliate her because she will be the object ridicule, harassment, or even envy- not because she is not qualified - but because she got her midnight appointment job job from an unpopular President.
