It is very evident that during all these important Harapan forums our dashing showbiz candidates like Bong Revilla, Lito Lapid, and Tito Sotto are always conspicuously absent. I suspect they are either so confident of winning that they feel no need to impress the voters or are afraid to face the people because they don’t have communicative ability to defend themselves from critical questions.

For instance, how would Panday Revilla defend himself from his “Babaero” reputation, or how Lito Lapid would refute the impression that he’s just a sartorial decoration in Congress; but he can also list his accomplishments as a legislator.

Tito Sotto will have a chance to tell the people that the nation is more important to him than his Eat Bulaga Dabarkads, at the same time he can also list his achievements as GMA’s appointed Drug Czar. The absence of these candidates from Harapan forums is a snub on both their fans and voters.

Such nationally televised forums are the best place where they can put their best feet forward. These celebrities may be “Pogi” only in front of the cameras but definitely not in front of the voting public.
