MANILA, Philippines – Showbiz reporter Chito Alcid doesn’t have much to be merry about on Christmas Day after his studio was ransacked early Tuesday morning.
While most Filipinos took to their social media accounts to greet their friends “Happy Holidays,” Alcid reported the burglary on his Facebook account on Tuesday.
Alcid said the burglar ran away with at least P35,000 in cash, as well as gadgets and jewelry.
According to his account, the incident happened at his studio at a condominium along Boni Avenue in Mandaluyong City. He said he was alone at his studio and went to sleep at around 2 a.m. after the traditional Noche Buena.
Meron pa akong P15K na panggastos for this week, Sa F! Hotel kami today, Dec. 25, ng anak ko at mga apo at manugang,” he wrote on his Facebook page.
Also missing were his laptop computer, a watch, a bracelet, a ring and two new mobile phones.
Alcid wrote that he immediately went to an Internet shop to post about the burglary and that he was proceeding to the police station.
According to Alcid’s account, the burglar destroyed a window to enter the studio, which was in a condominium building with a guard and several CCTV cameras.
Alcid made the headlines earlier this year when he got into an altercation with talent manager Annabelle Rama during the wake of veteran comedian Dolphy.
