MANILA, Philippines -- The Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) kicked off today as entries in the annual film fest hit theaters nationwide.
Star Cinema's entry "Sisterakas" is expected to be a huge hit as moviegoers lined up to catch the comedy trio of Vice Ganda, Ai Ai delas Alas and Kris Aquino.
Even Aquino's brother, President Benigno Aquino III, took time to watch the film.
Also shaping up to become a hit this Christmas Day are Vic Sotto and Sen. Ramon "Bong" Revilla Jr.'s "Si Enteng, Si Agimat at Si Ako" and the family drama "One More Try" starring Angel Locsin, Angelica Panganiban and Dingdong Dantes.
Metro Manila Development Authority (MMDA) chairman Francis Tolentino said the lineup of entries this year is exceptional. That's why they are estimated to earnings for the MMFF this year to reach around P700 million.
"Maganda ang pagsasama-sama ng iba't ibang genres. I would say this is one of the best," Tolentino said. -- Report from Gretchen Fullido, ABS-CBN News
