MANILA, Philippines -- Comedienne Ai Ai delas Alas is breaking tradition this year with her Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) entry "Sisterakas" with Vice Ganda and Kris Aquino.
In previous years, delas Alas said she would give up sex every time she has an MMFF movie "in exchange" for the film's success.
True enough, the comedienne has had a string of box-office hits during the annual film fest, including her "Tanging Ina" series and last year's "Enteng ng Ina Mo" with Vic Sotto.
But in an interview on "Gandang Gabi Vice" on Sunday, delas Alas said she is not giving up sex this year.
"'Yung celibacy, hindi. Pero may iba akong ginawa, honest lang ako," said delas Alas, who is currently in a relationship with businessman Jed Salang.
"Kasi wala naman akong partner (noon) kaya madali pa lang gawin 'yon. Madali siyang i-sacrifice kasi mag-isa lang ako. So ngayon kapag may partner ka, may iisipin kang iba, hindi lang ang sarili mo," she explained.
Asked what she promised to do in exchange of her "no sex" rule, delas Alas replied: "More charity, simbang gabi."
"Sisterakas" opens in theaters nationwide on Christmas Day.
