MANILA – Veteran comedian Vic Sotto admitted he wants the movie “My Little Bossings” to be a box office hit, but not to establish another record for himself.
In an interview with “Buzz ng Bayan” aired on Sunday, Sotto said the success of the Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) entry will be for its two child stars – James “Bimby” Yap Jr. and Ryzza Mae Dizon.
“I’m not thinking of myself in this film. I’m thinking of Bimby and Ryzza. I believe that they are the future superstars of the industry,” he said.
Sotto, who has been hailed as the local Box Office King, said Yap and Dizon are both extremely talented for their age, adding that people deserve to see what they have to offer.
“Ryzza is very good. She is very good, very talented. Madali siyang bigyan ng instructions. She’s just so charming. Bimby is cute, adorable, gwapo, masunuring bata. May tendency lang i-spoil ni Kris (Aquino),” he said, referring to Bimby's mother, host-actress Kris Aquino.
Directed by Marlon Rivera, the comedy film marks the big screen debut of Yap as well as the on-screen reunion of Sotto and Aquino.
Meanwhile, Sotto also explained why he decided to do this comedy film instead of making another sequel of his fantasy series “Enteng Kabisote.”
“Lahat tayo nagbu-burn out. Napapagod din naman si Enteng. Sa dami na siguro ng nakalaban niya, nagpapahinga lang nang konti 'yun. I’m sure he will be back,” he said.
While "Enteng Kabisote" is “resting,” Sotto urged the viewers to see “My Little Bossings” for this year’s MMFF.
“My Little Bossings," as well as the other seven entries to the annual film festival, will open on Christmas Day.
