Prince of Comedy Vic Sotto shared his great experiences working for the film “Iskul Bukol: 20 Years After” with his friend Joey de Leon and brother Tito Sotto.
The actor-host also shared good things in doing the remake of the ‘70s to ‘80s hit television show ‘Iskul Bukol’, especially reviving the career of veteran comedian Richie D’ Horsie.
Sotto said that he really had a great time shooting the film since they are enjoying the company of each other.
“Parang hindi ka mapapagod dahil enjoy lahat. Masaya, biruan. Good old days 'ika nga,” he added.
Asked why he decided to do the remake of "Iskul Bukol" rather than doing other stories like ‘Enteng Kabisote V,’ Sotto told abs-cbnNEWS.com, “Alam natin na ang Iskul Bukol, marami ang mga naging tagahanga noong araw. Sampung taong tumakbo sa telebisyon kaming tatlo as TVJ. Last time na gumawa kami ng pelikula was 1990 pa yata. So it’s about time na magkaroon ng reunion yung TVJ.”
He also added that like his fantasy films in the “Enteng Kabisote" series, “Iskul Bukol” the movie could also have a part two or three.
The adventure-filled ‘Iskul Bukol’ will chronicle the events that happened in the two decades since the TV series, after the Ezcalera brothers and Ungasis graduated from ‘Wanbol University.’
The reunion film aims to reintroduce ‘Iskul Bukol’ to the present crop of viewers. And to make the story more exciting, some parts were shot in Cambodia.
The story involves the search for the powerful ‘Peseta,’ one of the remaining 30 pieces of Judas’ silver which reportedly gives immortality to anyone who possesses it.
The ace comedian shared his expectations that the people will get curious and watch the movie especially those who did not get the chance to watch the television show.
Sotto, the younger brother of former senator Vicente “Tito” Sotto, who is also one of the producers of the comedy film said that he is not expecting a box office award since he is just after a successful Metro Manila Film Festival.
Members of the cast of “Iskul Bukol: 20 Years After” include Bibeth Orteza, Jimmy Santos, Mely Tagasa as the strict teacher Ms. Tapia, Richie D’ Horsie as himself, Anthony Roque as the former gay Tonet Macho and Mary Massab.

Megastar Sharon Cuneta is also making a special appearance as Tito and Joey’s younger sister, Sharon Escalera.
“Iskul Bukol: 20 Years After” is a co-production of OctoArts Films, M-Zet Films and APT Entertainment.
No wedding plans yet
Sotto, known for his playboy image is now happily in love with his current sweetheart actress-host Pia Guanio.
Sotto said that until now, he and Guanio have not discussed marriage.
If ever that day will come ay may announcement yon,” Sotto said.
Sotto keeps his relationship with the actress-host as private as possible.
For Christmas, Sotto only wishes for peace and prosperity for all especially now that there’s a world crisis.
So I wish for peaceful and prosperous New Year and Christmas,” Sotto ended.
