MANILA, Philippines -- Host-actress Kris Aquino, who is more known for her performances in horror and drama movies, believes she did well in "Sisterakas" alongside established comedians Ai Ai delas Alas and Vice Ganda.
"Parang I was good. Feeling ko lang. 'Yun ang sabi nila sa akin, hindi ko lang daw na realize," Aquino said in an interview on "Bandila" on Tuesday.
While Aquino started her career doing comedy roles in movies such as "Pido Dida," she eventually graduated to meatier roles under the country's top directors including the late Mario O'Hara in "The Fatima Buen Story," which earned her a nomination from the Gawad Urian.
Aquino won several acting awards for her acclaimed performances in the drama "Mano Po" in 2003.
According to the "KrisTV" host, it was her co-star Vice Ganda who told her that she has a natural flair for comedy.
"Vice paid me such a high compliment in saying na kung hindi ka naging Kris Aquino naging stand-up comedian ka, sabi niya," Aquino told "Bandila" host Boy Abunda.
In "Sisterakas," Aquino plays the role of Roselle, the rival of half-siblings Bernice (Ganda) and Detty (Delas Alas).
Aside from serving up laughs, Aquino said the movie, an entry to this year's Metro Manila Film Festival, also has heart.
"Pinagsama ako at 'yung kulitan at tawanan but ang ina-assure sa akin ay may puso ang pelikula," she said.
