MANILA, Philippines – The popularity and power of Willie Revillame and Dolphy are not enough to beat the powerhouse team of Kris Aquino, Sharon Cuneta, Korina Sanchez and Batangas Gov. Vilma Santos.

At least this is what Ilocos Norte Rep. Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. thinks as he urged Nacionalista Party (NP) standard bearer Sen. Manuel “Manny” Villar Jr. to scout for more celebrity endorsers.

Marcos said NP should get “popular young stars” to match the “showbiz heavyweights” who are supporting the candidacy of Liberal Party (LP) standard bearer Sen. Benigno “Noynoy” Aquino III.

The congressman noted that the backing of the “powerful trio” of Kris, Santos and Cuneta and the “brilliance of Korina” is an advantage for Noynoy.

Marcos also went on to describe the 4 celebrity endorsers as “LP’s prized possessions.”

“We can expect an equal fight if NP will get popular young stars to endorse Manny’s candidacy,” Marcos stressed.

He suggested that Villar should get pop star princess Sarah Geronimo and entertainment reporters Ginger Conejero of ABS-CBN and Pia Guanio of GMA 7as his newest endorsers.

It has been a common practice for many politicians to get endorsers from the entertainment industry in an apparent effort to attract the masses, and, hopefully, get their votes come election time.
