MANILA, Philippines -- For the first time, Enchong Dee and Julia Montes sat for a joint interview to finally discuss their rumored romance.
"Showbiz Inside Report" host Janice de Belen, who spoke with the Kapamilya stars, noted the apparent awkwardness between the two during the interview.
The 17-year-old Montes mostly gave one-word answers when asked on her relationship with the 24-year-old Dee.
The "Walang Hanggan" star merely echoed the actor's reply, "Yes," as to whether their lack of time for each other had affected their blooming relationship.
In earlier interviews, Dee said their time away from each other has "changed" their relationship.
"If a day would have 34 hours, probably," the actor said on the chances their friendship could still turn into romance.
But for both Star Magic talents, their busy schedule is a "blessing," rather than a thing of regret.
"Ang hirap baguhin ng taon na 'to, dahil sobrang blessed namin," Montes said. "Siguro everything happens for a reason. God has plans."
"This year is really a blessing," Dee said. "Kaya mahirap sabihin na sana ganito, sana ganoon."
In 2012, both Dee and Montes had lead roles in their respective TV series and movies.
She starred in the top-rating series "Walang Hanggan," while he found a new onscreen love team in Maja Salvador in "Ina, Kapatid, Anak."
After co-starring in the "barkada" flick "The Reunion" early this year, Montes and Dee will share the big screen anew in the 2012 Metro Manila Film Festival entry "The Strangers."
Currently, Montes is shooting a new film with Coco Martin under Star Cinema, while Dee continues to topbill his primetime soap.
With their career's demands not letting up, are the two still hoping to have a romantic relationship?
"Right now, we're at the position wherein we would prefer to be friends forever," Dee said.
