MANILA, Philippines – The "kilig-serye" starring Jodi Sta. Maria and Richard Yap continues to be the most watched program on daytime television across the country.
First aired in July this year, "Be Careful with My Heart" has consistently garnered high nationwide TV ratings, making it the No. 1 program during daytime.
According to the latest TV ratings data of multinational market research group Kantar Media, "Be Careful With my Heart" has carried over its nationwide audience share from November to December.
The daytime series tells the story of aspiring flight attendant Maya (Sta. Maria), who leaves the province for Manila to pursue her dreams. Her life plan takes a detour when she becomes the maid of the family of single dad and businessman Richard Lim (Yap), for whom she later develops romantic feelings.
Last month, the Kapamilya soap was among the Top 10 most watched programs across the country, with its 25.1% average national TV rating, good for No. 9 on the list.
Last Tuesday (Novemebr 27), "Be Careful with My Heart" had a national TV rating of 24.5%, compared to its rival show "Chef Boy Logro," which only got 6.6%.
The win proved to be a streak the rest of the week and going into December, with the ABS-CBN show garnering 23.7% versus the cooking program's 6.6% last Wednesday (Nov. 28); 25.6% vs 7% last Thursday (Nov. 29); 25.2% vs 6.2% last Friday (Nov. 30); and 23.6% vs 6.9% last Monday (December 3).
Due to its popularity, the "kilig-serye" was recently announced to be extended for another seven months, which will put its time on air close to a year.
Kantar Media uses a nationwide panel size of 2,609 urban and rural homes, more than AGB Nielsen’s 1,980 homes that are only based in urban areas. Kantar Media’s panel represents 100% of the total Philippine TV viewing population, while AGB Nielsen reportedly represents only 57% of the Philippine TV viewing population.
