MANILA -- He may not be part of the movie but Richard Yap is happy over the success of Vice Ganda's latest blockbuster "The Super Parental Guardians."
In an interview on Tuesday at a blog conference for his movie "Mano Po 7: Chinoy," Yap said that Ganda and co-star Coco Martin are really the kings of box office.
"I am very happy for Vice and Coco. Well, box office king naman talaga silang dalawa eh. I had a chance to work with Vice, we had a movie noong MMFF dati din and blockbuster din kami noon," said Yap, referring to their 2014 movie "The Amazing Praybeyt Benjamin."
"So I wouldn't be surprise if he is doing so well. I wish him all the luck and more success," Yap added.
Both "The Super Parental Guardians" and "Mano Po 7: Chinoy" were rejected from this year's Metro Manila Film Festival and had to be shown ahead of the annual movie event.
"The Super Parental Guardians" opened last November 30, while "Mano Po 7: Chinoy" will hit theaters on December 14.
Meanwhile, Yap also announced that he will be doing a new series for ABS-CBN next year.
"As of now, wala pang concrete plans but I know that we are going to start a teleserye baka by January or February," he said.
