MANILA, Philippines – Actress Erich Gonzales vowed to help her fellow Davaoeños, who were badly hit by typhoon Pablo this week.

In an interview with ABS-CBN News on Thursday, Gonzales said her family in Davao has been spared by the typhoon but she has been praying for everyone in the province.
Weather bureau PAGASA said Pablo made its first landfall in the coastal town of Baganga, Davao Oriental last Tuesday.
“Nagpapasalamat po ako sa Diyos dahil 'yung pamilya ko po sa Davao, hindi naman sila naapektuhan but, of course, sa mga kababayan ko doon... pero ito talaga 'yung tamang panahon para magtulong-tulong talaga,” she said.
Gonzales said she was really shocked when she saw images of the typhoon aftermath.
“Nung nakita ko nga po sa news 'yung pictures nung nangyari, grabe. Parang lagi na lang nangyayari. Pero lagi naman tayong nandito para tumulong. Sad po talaga pero hindi talaga natin maiiwasan ang mga sakunang ganyan. Prayers na lang talaga and in my own little way, tutulong po ako,” she said.
Gonzales said she would try to do her best to make her provincemates feel that they are not alone in this time of ordeal.
As of Thursday afternoon, nearly 200,000 people were homeless and 475 confirmed dead after the Philippines' worst typhoon this year, officials said.
Agriculture Secretary Proceso J. Alcala also said an estimated P250 million to P300 million worth of crops may have been damaged by Pablo. - with a report from Mario Dumaual, ABS-CBN News
