MANILA, Philippines - Former sexy star Divina Valencia arrived Tuesday morning at the Quezon City Prosecutor’s Office to testify in the ongoing child abuse raps filed against talent manager Annabelle Rama.

In an interview with ABS-CBN News, Valencia said, “I’m here for the truth. I’m here for the kids (Nadia Montenegro's kids).”

Valencia, however, clarified that she is not trying to start a fight against her good friend Rama.

She explained, “Wala akong kaaway, wala akong gustong kaawayin.

I’m more willing to do it for her,” she added.

Aside from Valencia, another witness who surfaced was Montenegro's driver, Ariel Gumara.

He said, “May mga insidente talaga na may nangyari at nakita ko, narinig ko po [‘yung sinasabing pang-aabuso sa mga bata].”

Montenegro failed to attend the scheduled hearing for the child abuse and oral defamation charges she filed against Rama.

According to Montenegro’s lawyer, the former actress is out of town on a business trip, and she could not reschedule her flight back to Manila.

This incident earned Rama’s ire. “Dapat nag-confirm siya magbu-booking siya the day before the hearing. Ako, galing pa akong Amerika, kaya ako umuwi dahil dito,” she said.

--Report from Mario Dumaual, ABS-CBN News
