MANILA, Philippines – Actress Andi Eigenmann on Sunday said she is only coming to realize now that motherhood is not easy.
In a live interview on “The Buzz” during her daughter Elie’s first birthday party and Christian dedication, Eigenmann told Boy Abunda, “Narerealize ko na kahit nagiging positive ako dito [sa pagiging ina kay Elie], it’s not easy, and it’s not going to be easy.”
The actress said she became emotional during Elie’s dedication, when Pastor Rico Ricafort said a prayer on how Elie was a gift and a reward from God.
“Iyon nga po, [tapos] andiyan pa ang mga ninong at ninang ko,” she said.
Baby Elie has 12 godparents, including showbiz personalities Maja Salvador, Matteo Guidicelli, Angel Locsin, Amy Austria, Ann Curtis, Lorna Tolentino, Vic del Rosario and Coco Martin. However, Martin was not present at the dedication because he was out of town.
“Kaninang dedication, naging emotional ako kasi I’ve always taken the motherhood thing so lightly. Lagi ko na lang iniisip na kaya ko ito, kaya ko ito,” she said.
She is loving motherhood so far, the actress shared, and that the best thing about it for her is seeing her daughter happy.
“Whenever I see her happy, that’s the best thing for me. The most important thing is that Elie is always happy. Anything makes her happy, it’s so easy. That’s what I like,” she said.
“Whenever I look at her, wala nang dahilan para mag-give up. Madali na rin para sa akin ang maging masaya na rin.”
The theme of Elie’s birthday party was “Alice in Wonderland.” Eigenmann was dressed as the Queen of Hearts, while her daughter was costumed as Alice.
Eigenmann said that she was very “hands on” in preparing for the party, which was months in the making. It took place at the Blue Leaf Events Pavilion in the Bonifacio Global City in Taguig.
