A taxi driver has accused actor John Regala of beating him up following a traffic altercation at the corner of Panay and Sgt. Esguerra avenues in Quezon City Tuesday morning.

Regala's wife, however, immediately denied the charge hurled by Rafael Sabuhala against her husband.

Vicky Regala said she and her husband were on their way to the ABS-CBN Broadcasting Corp. compound to get the actor's check payment when the incident happened.

explained.

Meanwhile, the taxi driver stood firm on his statement that the actor mauled him and even punched him on the eye.

The actor, meanwhile, denied that he badmouthed the taxi driver. He added that he just asked Sabuhala what his problem was.

When asked of is he willing to settle, Regala replied: "Well alam mo kung mabuting makipag-usap. Sa akin balewala naman, kaya lang lahat yata ng kademonyohan nandiyan sa kalbong ‘yan (pointing to the driver)," the actor said.  With a report from Edwin Sevidal, DZMM
