MANILA, Philippines –Zsa Zsa Padilla broke into tears as she talked about her 82-year-old longtime partner, King of Comedy Dolphy.

The singer-actress admitted her growing fears when it comes to Dolphy's health and the time they have together.

She revealed that they have become extremely close while producing Dolphy's latest film, “Father Jejemon.” She said she rediscovered and experienced the intensity of her love for Dolphy.

"He is a living legend," she said.

She said she draws strength from prayers in order to counter her fears.

She also looks forward to celebrating the Holiday season with Dolphy and their family.

The Divine Diva said her family’s main concern is Dolphy’s health, but they could not convince the actor to entirely leave show business. Dolphy’s career has spanned 6 decades.

“It really makes him happy,” she said.

The singer further explained: “Sabi nga niya semi-retired na siya kasi every time he retires, he still goes back to work.”

She added that, being a thespian herself, she understands her partner’s love for the industry. She said that it is through showbiz that Dolphy gets to express his creativity.

Dolphy’s health

At the press launch of his album, Dolphy revealed that he is still recovering from pneumonia, and is constantly assisted by a nurse while under recovery.

“Humina ang lungs ko. Matagal talaga ang recovery ng pneumonia,” he shared.

At 82, Dolphy continues to enjoy an active career in acting and music, but admitted that age is catching up on him.

Aside from releasing an album, his next movie, “Father Jejemon,” is one of this year's Metro Manila Film Festival entries.

However, he said that extra care is necessary because he is prone to over-fatigue and ailments.

But he quickly added: “Hindi naman pahirapan ang trabaho. Nage-enjoy ka naman sa ginagawa mo, ‘yon ang imporante.”

The King of Comedy has been hounded by death rumors. But surprisingly, the veteran actor did not appear outraged by these rumors.

“Tinatawanan ko na lang ‘yong ganoon. Ikinikibit balikat ko na lang ‘yon, ganoon talaga. Ang daming text, hindi lang ako [ang apektado], madaming taong naapektuhan ng mga bali-balita,” he said.

Padilla, on the other hand, said: “Sabi nga niya, nagbibiro siya ilang beses na siyang pinapatay sa balita. Kami nandidito lang kami bilang pamilya, sumusuporta sa kanya.”
