MANILA - Actress-host KC Concepcion might meet Hollywood star Drew Barrymore next year in one of the events of the United Nations-World Food Programme (UN-WFP).
"I don't know [when will that be]. I think there's an event next year in New York. I'm not sure, but I really love to meet her," Concepcion, UN-WFP national ambassador against hunger, said during the launching of "KC Cares. Swatch Shares" campaign.
Barrymore, 34, was named UN-WFP’s ambassador against hunger in 2007, a year before Concepcion was accorded the same title.
Concepcion said their meeting will depend on Barrymore’s schedule, noting that the American actress has so many other appointments and commitments.
"There are still talks pero mahirap din po kasi ang schedule niya. Pero hopefully [matuloy],” she added.
If the meeting pushes through, the “Lovers in Paris” actress said she and Barrymore can discuss, among other things, the efforts to end global hunger.
"Pareho po kasi ang trabaho namin ni Drew, so mas marami kaming mapag-uusapan pagdating doon," she said.
Concepcion is set to fly back to war-torn Mindanao and bring help there with other UN-WFP personnel.
"KC Cares. Swatch Shares" campaign aims to help end hunger in the country. For every single purchase of its Fall/Winter 2009 collection, Swatch will give a percentage to WFP.
‘Someone to care’
Meanwhile, Concepcion said she’s opening her doors to new love.
She admitted that she's now entertaining suitors. And like any ordinary Filipina, she is not rushing things when it comes to the matters of the heart.
"Sometimes girls test guys. Kung medyo hindi sila nabo-bother sa mga bagay bagay at nandoon pa din sila, no matter what, [siya ang magugustuhan ko]," Concepcion, who is romantically linked to leading man Piolo Pascual, said.
Like Barrymore, Concepcion is also busy with her numerous projects here.
Aside from her teleserye, she is also set to do a new movie. Reports said Concepcion's father, actor Gabby Concepcion, might be part of the new film.
"There's a movie on the way. I'm very excited about it. Surprise [muna ang leading man ko]. It's the first team up," she said.
She is also set to release her second album under Sony BMG Philippines.
Also, this November 26 and 27, Concepcion, her mother, Megastar Sharon Cuneta, and international performer Billy Crawford will hold a concert in Las Vegas, Nevada. -Report by Reyma Buan-Deveza, abs-cbnNEWS.com
