MANILA - Comedian-entrepreneur Gary Lising is now in stable condition after he was rushed to a hospital last week due to a heart attack.
Lising, who underwent angioplasty early this week, is now recuperating at Makati Medical Center.
In an interview with "SNN: Showbiz News Ngayon," Lising's only child, Bugsy, disclosed that the doctors told their relatives that if Lising arrived 10 minutes late in the hospital “he could have died or [become] paralyzed.”
"He's at home watching TV lang, tapos biglang sumakit ang chest niya. He stood up then he fell down, and then he crawled going down the stairs. Then he called the maid. And sabi niya sa maid, 'Tawag ka ng kahit sino.' ‘Yong cousin ko si Myla, ni-rush niya sa hospital,” Bugsy recalled.
"Up to the minute ng pagdating niya dito [hospital], talagang nagpapatawa siya. Sabi niya he is diabetic and he got it from his father who is a sugar daddy. Talagang he can't stop thinking of jokes kahit ganyan siya. He just want to make people happy," Bugsy added.
Lising started his career in show business as one of the cast of defunct gag show "Champoy."
