MANILA, Philippines - Concert King Martin Nievera spoke on the newest controversy involving his former wife, Pops Fernandez, whose alleged nude photo is now circulating via Multimedia Messaging Service, or MMS.
In an interview with "Showbiz News Ngayon" (SNN), Nievera said he believes the photo showing the alleged nude body of Fernandez was cropped.
"Oh, I didn't see that. You know they take the head of someone and they put the head of their favorite star. They did that to Pops many years ago and other female colleagues of mine," Nievera said.
He stressed that the mother of his two sons will never pose nude.
"No way. Not my Pops, not the Pops that I know. She's a decent woman and I don't think that was Pops," he added.
Nievera also appealed to the culprit to stop using Fernandez's face.
"I've always been mad at anybody who would abuse the beauty and glamour of Pops.
"If someone is really doing that, using Pops' face and body, I really urge them to stop doing that and to get a life, do something else with your time," he said.
SNN also got the help of a graphic artist to determine the authenticity of the picture.
"Una sa lahat, 'yong sa mukha nga at sa skin (sa body) ay magkaiba. Mas matingkad ang sa mukha so doon pa lang ay iisipin mo na kung pinatong," graphic artist Edward Lizada said.
Asked if there's a possibility that the picture was cropped, he replied: "Malaki, malaki. Mukhang hindi talaga siya."
He even added that nowadays it's very easy to manipulate and alter pictures using modern technology.
"'Yong mga ganyan, aabutin ka lang siguro ng less than 10 minutes basta tama ang angulo eh. Ipapatong mo na lang," Lizada ended.
