MANILA, Philippines - Former actress Nadia Montenegro filed another libel case against her children’s talent manager, Annabelle Rama.
On Tuesday, Montenegro went to the Quezon City prosecutor’s office to file new libel and unjust fixation charges against Rama for her alleged defamatory statements in 3 separate television guestings.
According to Montenegro’s camp, these charges refer to Rama’s television appearances on a talk show on October 23 and ABS-CBN News and Current Affairs program “TV Patrol” last November 4.
Montenegro also clarified that this complaint is in addition to the libel and unjust fixation charges she filed against Rama a few weeks ago over the latter's alleged defamatory statements about her through microblogging site Twitter.
Rama’s 'TV Patrol' interview
In her interview aired on “TV Patrol” last November 4, Rama denied Montenegro’s allegation that she had lambasted the former actress using her official Twitter account.
Rama claimed, “Lahat ng account ko sa Twitter is all blind item. Eh kung nagke-claim siya na siya ‘yon eh siya ‘yon,” she said.
She also stressed that she only had one post addressed to Montenegro on her official Twitter account. She said this was about the complainant’s debt to her.
"Sabi ko, ‘Nadia Montenegro, bayaran mo ang utang mo sa akin at saka ‘yung kumakain ka doon sa office ko, halos everyday nagte-take-out ka pa, hindi mo binabayaran, ayon,” she explained.
During the interview, Rama was also able to utter a rather controversial statement directed to Montenegro.
She said, “Panindigan ko lahat ng sinasabi ko, Nadia. Tandaan mo ‘yan. Baka nakalimutan mo, magkasama tayo lagi dati. Hindi mo ako matatakot, ‘Day. Marami akong alam sa 'yo. Maglabasan tayo ng baho, okay lang sa akin.”
On Tuesday, Montenegro replied to Rama’s challenge, saying that she is not threatened by whatever “dirt” she has against her.
“Wala naman akong kinatatakutan sa mga pasabog eh,” Montenegro said.
“Lahat ng pasabog na 'yan alam naman natin gawain na niya 'yan noon pa eh, so hindi na ako naaaninag sa mga ganon, hindi na.”
According to Montenegro, her primary concern at this point is to seek justice for her children who were, based on the child abuse raps she filed against Rama last September, allegedly abused by the talent manager.
She explained, “Kaya nga dinadaan ko sa ganito eh, kasi ‘yung dalawang anak ko hindi naman nila kayang ipaglaban ‘yung sarili nila eh, ako siyempre ang lalaban. I’m doing my job as their mother na kailangan ko namang protektahan [sila].”
For now, Montenegro simply keeps her hopes up that that Rama will finally stop talking ill about her.
“Sana tumahimik na muna siya, dahil hangga’t meron siyang sinasabi against me at hindi totoo hindi rin ako titigil na siyempre hahanapin at hahanapin ko ang hustisya para naman ipagtanggol ko ang sarili ko,” she said.
