MANILA, Philippines -- After starring in two movie blockbusters, Vice Ganda is confident that his latest comedy "Sisterakas" will also be a huge hit, especially since he will be starring with two other certified crowd-drawers.

"Kampante ako sa mga kasama ko eh -- si Kris Aquino at Ms. Ai Ai delas Alas," Vice Ganda told ABS-CBN News during the press conference on Monday for the entries to the 38th Metro Manila Film Festival.

"Talagang nakadikit na sa birth certificate niya (delas Alas) 'yung box office, kaya kampante ako sa pelikulang 'to na bongga ang kalalabasan. Kung 'di man No. 1, No. 2," added Vice Ganda, whose 2011 comedy flick "The Unkabogable Praybeyt Benjamin" is the current highest-grossing Filipino film of all time.

Dubbed the country's "Queen of All Media," Aquino's decades-long showbiz career is also decorated with numerous box-office successes on the big screen, notably the horror films "Sukob" (2006) and "Segunda Mano" (2011).

For her part, delas Alas is popular for her "Tanging Ina" film franchise, which has become a staple presence at the annual MMFF. The latest in the series released last year, "Enteng ng Ina Mo," went on to become the all-time highest grossing entry to the MMFF.

"Sisterakas," which is competing at this year's MMFF, marks the first team-up of Vice Ganda, Aquino and delas Alas. It is directed by Wenn Deramas, who is also behind "Praybeyt Benjamin" and the "Tanging Ina" series.

"Ito ngang pelikula na 'to, binuo, tapos muntik hindi matuloy, tapos binuo, at nadagdagan, pero mas masaya ngayon, dahil biglang may Ms. Ai Ai delas Alas na," Vice Ganda said.

The comedy flick was originally to star only Aquino and Vice Ganda. But after the actress-host backed out of the project, citing health concerns and a packed schedule, delas Alas was tapped for the film with the "It's Showtime" host.

But under the rules of the MMFF, the original cast of a film entry submitted to the committee cannot be replaced, so Aquino had no choice but to shoot the movie.

"Super happy ako, [dahil] noon ko pa talaga sinabi na isa sa mga dreams ko 'yung mag-film fest, 'yung makasakay sa float," Vice Ganda said of "Sisterakas."

"Parang nakaka-kumpleto ng pagiging artsita 'yun eh, 'yung meron kang film fest entry, so exciting," he added.
