MANILA - ABS-CBN on Thursday debuted its 2014 Christmas station ID, which centers on gratitude and aptly set to an original tune inspired by the colloquial "Thank You" Christmas carol.
The station ID, dubbed "Thank You Ang Babait Ninyo," features the song of the same title performed by "The Voice Kids" winner Lyca Gairanod and runners-up Darren Espanto, Juan Karlos Labajo and Darlene Vibares.
The song about the sense of "gratitude that is innate in every Filipino" was written by Robert Labayen, Love Rose de Leon and Lloyd Corpuz, with musical arrangement by Amber and Marcus Davis.
The music video shows ABS-CBN personalities thanking important people in their lives and paying tribute to those who give service and serve as inspiration to others.
Among those who thanked family members were Judy Ann Santos, Piolo Pascual, and Toni and Alex Gonzaga. John Lloyd Cruz, on the other hand, showed his gratitude to the man who discovered him as a potential actor.
ABS-CBN News anchors honored those who give service to their countrymen. Noli de Castro thanked teachers in Oriental Mindoro, "Umagang Kay Ganda" anchors gave recognition to PAGASA employees, while Julius Babao, Karen Davila and Ces Drilon of "Bandila" paid tribute to farmers.
Similarly, teleserye stars Matteo Guidicelli and Julia Montes surprised people who inspire with their deeds and dedication to their work, such as an honest janitress in Cebu who returned lost money, and a teacher to the deaf and mute.
Sarah Geronimo, meanwhile, had an emotional moment with a progeria-stricken fan who identifies the pop star as an inspiration, and whom she thanked for inspiring her in her craft as well.
"Thank You Ang Babait Ninyo" marks ABS-CBN's 12th Christmas station ID following a string of hits that paid tribute to the Filipino sense of community and spirit amid disasters.
