MANILA, Philippines – Korean star Psy is not the only one getting YouTube hits in the “Gangnam Style” video. The little kid from the viral clip is also getting the star treatment.
He is Hwang Min-Woo, also known as "Little Psy," and he dropped by at the MYX studio last Thursday to share his electrifying energy with the VJs.
In an interview with one of MYX’s VJs, Little Psy said he did not expect that people from all over the world would recognize him because of the video.
“I’ve been to US, Vietnam and here in the Philippines. When I was in the US, I was not expecting that every people would recognize me but when I was performing, all of them recognized me. All of them wanted to take pictures with me,” he said in Korean.
Little Psy, who will be turning 8 this year, said his trip to the US came to a point that bodyguards had to bring him back to the hotel because there were too many press people and fans mobbing him.
According to Little Psy, he has been passionate about singing and dancing since he was a little kid.
“Since I was young, I’ve been dancing, watching the videos of different dance steps. And now in order to dance better, I am learning popping dance,” he shared.
Asked about his idols in the industry, he said: “Psy, Big Bang and Michael Jackson.”
Big Bang is the popular K-Pop group, who recently visited Manila for a one-night concert.
