MANILA - Royette Padilla, brother of action star Robin Padilla, was accused of raping a minor last Monday, November 9.

ABS-CBN News reported that the alleged rape happened inside an apartelle in Angeles City, Pampanga.

According to a male employee working at the building, the victim - a 17-year-old girl - claimed she was raped by a man whom she identified as the eldest brother of Robin Padilla.

"Sabi ng babae sa akin, kapatid daw ni Robin Padilla. 'Yon daw panganay. Tapos sabi ng kasama ko, si Royette daw. Di ko naman nakita masyado ang mukha kasi madilim eh," the employee said.

(The girl told me the suspect is the brother of Robin Padilla. The eldest brother. My companion identified him as Royette. I didn't see the suspect's face that well because it was dark.)

The employee, who simply identified himself as "Mark", said he spoke with the alleged suspect moments after the purpoted rape occurred.

"Sabi sa akin pakibantayan ko raw pinto. Baka raw tumakas ang babae dahil baka magwala raw. [He told me to guard the door because the girl might escape and make a scene]," he said.

Police reports said the victim met the suspect, who took her with him. Inside the suspect's van, the girl said she lost consciousness and woke up moments later inside a room at the apartelle.

After the alleged rape, the victim said the suspect escaped at dawn on Tuesday, November 10.

"Mark" said he tried to stop the vehicle, but was threatened by the suspect. "Humarurot bigla ang sasakyan niya tapos hinarang ko nga. Tapos sabi niya sa akin, 'Tabi ka diyan. Kung hindi, babarilin kita.' Tapos hinayaan na namin," he said.

(The car started to speed away but I went in front of it. The suspect told me, "Get out of the way. If not, I will shoot you." So we let him go.)

Authorities said that the victim is now under the custody of Department of Social Worker and Developmen while the suspect will face child molestation charges under Republic Act 7610. Report by Jay Pelayo, ABS-CBN News.
