MANILA, Philippines - Talent manager Annabelle Rama has slammed former actress Nadia Montenegro over the libel case recently filed against her.
In an interview with ABS-CBN News on Friday, she denied that she had posted defamatory statements on her official Twitter account aimed directly at Montenegro.
She said, “Kine-claim niya eh wala naman akong pangalang sinasabi eh.”
According to Rama, she only had one post addressed to Montenegro on her Twitter account. She said this was about the former actress debt to her.
"Sabi ko, ‘Nadia Montenegro, bayaran mo ang utang mo sa akin at saka ‘yung kumakain ka doon sa office ko, halos everyday nagte-take-out ka pa, hindi mo binabayaran, ayon,” she explained.
Montenegro recently charged Rama with libel and unjust vexation over the latter's alleged defamatory statements about her through microblogging site Twitter. [http://www.abs-cbnnews.com/entertainment/11/03/11/nadia-montenegro-files-new-charges-vs-annabelle-rama]
According to Montenegro, Rama called her "piggy" on Twitter several times, and alleged that she had an affair with another man and is unable to pay her bills, among others.
In her defense, Rama insisted that all her tweets are blind items.
“Lahat ng account ko sa Twitter is all blind item. Eh kung nagke-claim siya na siya ‘yon eh siya ‘yon,” she said.
“Ang sabi ko nga, ‘Bato-bato sa langit, ang tamaan huwag magalit.’ Bakit nagalit ka?”
Last September, Montenegro lodged a child abuse complaint against Rama.
This was in relation to Rama's alleged failure to protect the interest of her children, Alyanna and Annyka Asistio, as their talent manager.
Rama deflected the allegation by saying, “Tignan niyo na muna ‘yung anak niya, kung puwede bang abusuhin ‘yon. Huwag niya ipapasa sa akin. Kasi ako matino akong nanay.”
On November 8, Rama and Montenegro are set to meet for the first hearing of their case.
In line with this, Rama said, “Panindigan ko lahat ng sinasabi ko Nadia. Tandaan mo ‘yan. Baka nakalimutan mo, magkasama tayo lagi dati. Hindi mo ako matatakot ‘day.” –Report from Mario Dumaual, ABS-CBN News
