MANILA - Actress-host Kris Aquino, the youngest sister of Sen. Benigno "Noynoy" Aquino III, will not act as the country’s “first lady” if her bachelor brother becomes president next year.
"No way!" Kris said in an interview during the launching of her newest endorsement, 555 Tuna.
Kris was reacting to the possibility of her serving as the official hostess of Malacañang and performing the functions of a first lady if Noynoy wins in 2010 presidential election.
According to Wikipedia, a first lady, traditionally the spouse of the sitting president of the country, has no official duties. She nonetheless attends many official ceremonies and functions of state either along with or in place of the president.
The first lady also frequently participates in humanitarian and charitable works, Wikipedia said.
In Noynoy’s case, unless he gets married, the presidential aspirant may choose a female member of his household to serve as the official hostess of the Palace if he wins.
This was what the late Elpidio Quirino did in 1948. When he became the sixth Philippine president, Quirino was a widower. He picked his daughter, Vicky, to perform the functions of a first lady.
Noynoy has four sisters, with Kris being the youngest and most visible in public.
However, Kris, host of entertainment shows “SNN: Showbiz News Ngayon,” and “The Buzz,” dismissed the possibility of her becoming the country’s next first lady.
The host, who once publicly expressed that she wanted her brother to stay single, said she hopes Noynoy would finally find his lifetime partner.
“So, if that time comes, sana whoever will be his partner, [she] will be somebody who will give him 100% love and support. Kasi ‘yon ang kakailanganin talaga ng anybody who's in that position," Kris said.
When it comes to his love life, Kris also pointed out that it is Noynoy’s decision.
Ruffa-Noynoy love team?
Noynoy’s current girlfriend is Valenzuela City Councilor Shalani Soledad.
There was speculation though that Kris was setting him up with her "The Buzz" co-host Ruffa Gutierrez. But Kris vehemently denied the rumor.
"Noy is in a relationship right now. I'm not an evil sister na gugustuhin ko na magtatlo-tatlong girlfriend ang kapatid ko,” she said.
She clarified: “Ang nirereto ko kay Ruffa is bagong biyudo, so next year na. Kapag babang luksa na at alam naman niya ‘yon. Nabiyudo lang siya noong August.
“And sinabi ko kay Ruffa na tutal residente ka din naman ng Makati, i-entertain mo na din. In August, kapag naka-one year naman. Ang pangit naman kung ipa-date na natin sila," Kris added.
Bistek or Willie
Kris, who is now a registered voter of Makati, also cleared speculation that she was opposed to Quezon City Vice Mayor Herbert "Bistek" Bautista running for mayor in 2010. Reports said Kris was rooting for Willie Revillame, who was rumored to be planning to join the mayoralty race in QC.
"Wala akong sinabi laban sa kanya (Bautista). That was really taken out of context. Anyway, my vote doesn't matter anymore in Quezon City kasi sa Makati na ako botante,” she said.
Aside from preparing for her brother’s political campaign, Kris is gearing for her movie under Regal Films. She is also set to do a television series early next year and might be part of ABS-CBN's newest and biggest reality-based talent show, "Pilipinas Got Talent."
Reports said Kris is one of the judges in the upcoming show that will be hosted by actor-host Luis Manzano and international artist Billy Crawford.

First Lady is the unofficial title used in some countries for the spouse (asawa) of an elected head of state. Therefore this is absurd. However, if the involve party's should instill a change of a different vision or attitude away from the old dirty politics. Perhaps opinions of what if and what not should stay off the table and offer the people a real resolve and choices for the future sa ating bayan. Grow up ppl!

Everybody is looking forward the assessment being made by administration and opposition political analyst on misconceptions of having Noynoy Aquino as a presidential candidate or president of our country.
Pinoys are tired of the old elitist culture of Philippine politicians (trapo). The parties were completely non-ideological. Traditional politicians and office-holders switched parties whenever it seemed advantageous to do so. Almost all politicians were wealthy, and many were landlords with large holdings. They blocked moves for social reform; they seemed not to have even imagined that society required serious reform.
Noynoy Aquino, Gibo Teodoro and Manny Villar are definitely out of my family’s glossary of presidential candidates.

hindi ako bubuto sa napilit lang na kumandidato,
ayon sa survey na ginawa ko sa aming baranggay.mananalo ang mga sikat at nadatung na kandidato at hindi yun may nagawa period.
