MANILA, Philippines -- The romance-drama film starring Anne Curtis, Andi Eigenmann and Derek Ramsay is on track to replicate the success of the second highest-grossing local film of all time.
After only six days in cinemas nationwide, "A Secret Affair" has now grossed P100 million in box office earnings, Viva Entertainment announced Wednesday in its official account on micro-blogging site Twitter.
The company's film production outfit is behind the Nuel Naval film, which premiered in theaters nationwide on October 24.
Viva Films also tapped Curtis and Ramsay to star in "No Other Woman," a co-production with Star Cinema, last year. The Ruel Bayani film went on to become the second highest-grossing Filipino film of all time, with over P278 million total earnings.
Proving the bankability of the tandem, "A Secret Affair" even topped the first-day earnings of "No Other Woman," with P20 million compared to the latter's P15 million.
Likewise, the movie which also stars Kapamilya young star Andi Eigenmann is almost at par with the five-day earnings of "No Other Woman." Whereas "A Secret Affair" earned P100 million in six days, last year's Cristine Reyes-starrer achieved the same feat in five.
