MANILA,Philippines- After admitting that he is going through an identity crisis, singer Jimboy Salazar has finally come out of the closet.
In an exclusive interview with The Buzz on Sunday, the ex-boyfriend of comedienne Mahal said he wants to be called not as Jimboy, but as "Jimgirl."
“Dalawa yung personality ko, pwedeng girl or boy, may choice ang mga manonood,” he said.
He said that it took a lot of guts for him admit that he is gay.
He added that he wants to take advantage of his gender to for a showbiz comeback.
“Siyempre, partly na rin iyon dahil namiss ko ang showbiz,” he added.
Without any hesitation, Salazar revealed that he had fallen in love and lived in with gays several times.
Bebe Gandanghari wannabe?
The gay performer said in a previous interview that he was inspired by Rustom Padilla’s move to announce his gender transformation. This inspiration has caused Salazar to follow Bebe Gandanghari’s steps.
Salazar also revealed that he had a crush on Gandanghari.
“Dati ko siyang crush, noon time na Bebe na siya, ang ganda niya kasi,” he added.
Salazar, meanwhile, said he did fell for women during his “That’s Entertainment” stint.
When asked directly if his relationship with Mahal was a mere gimmick, he replied: “Para sa akin it’s a true love, yung true love na yun. Minahal ko sya ng walang malice. Iyong pagmamahal at pagke-care totoo iyon.”
Salazar divuged that he is now relieved yet hopeful that his family will accept him for who he is.
“Bakit daw kung kailan nagkae-dad tska nagkaganito. Hindi daw ba ako nahihiya. I have a talent, sa singing, may boses ako parang babae, that's why i am enjoying now, sana tanggapin niyo ako,” he ended.
