MANILA, Philippines – Comedian Vice Ganda said he was overwhelmed when he learned that his latest movie “Praybeyt Benjamin” is now a blockbuster hit.
According to Boy Abunda, the comedy film already earned P110 million as of October 29. “The Unkabogable Praybeyt Benjamin” started its regular screening on October 26.
Speaking on “The Buzz,” Vice Ganda thanked everyone who has already seen the movie.
Maa-accomodate na kayong lahat,” he added.
Vice Ganda also shared he secretly watched the film at a mall in Quezon City, and he personally thanked the viewers who were inside the movie house after the screening.
“Kagabi nga nagpunta ako sa Trinoma, hindi alam ng mga tao sa kalagitnaan ng last full show, pumasok ako, nanood ako. Pagbukas ng ilaw, nakita nila nandoon ako. Nagpasalamat ako ng personal kasi talagang unkabogable. Nagdagdag pa sila ng last last full show ng 12:30,” he related.
Asked if he expected the success of “Praybeyt Benjamin,” Vice Ganda said: “In-expect ko po talaga maghi-hit kasi maganda ang material pero hindi ganito kalala. Sumobra sa expectations ko, OA ang hit talaga.”
The movie is on track to be as big a hit at the box office as "No Other Woman."
Star Cinema's last film, "No Other Woman", earned the amount weeks into its airing. A P220-million mark was reached on its 3rd week. The film was co-produced with Viva Films.
