Tribute album to Comedy King underway
MANILA, Philippines –Zsa Zsa Padilla shared that she wrote a song for the late film icon Dolphy, her partner for 23 years.
In an interview with "Showbiz Inside Report" aired Saturday, Padilla revealed that a "tribute album" for the late veteran actor is currently in the works. The record, according to the Kapamilya singer, aims to share "inspiration" to anyone who continues to grieve a loss.
Dolphy passed away in July after a 5-year battle with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease.
"Zia and I are sort of doing a tribute album for him, because we feel that, syempre when you go through a loss, pwede mo namang [ibahagi] 'di ba, para maging inspiration din 'yung music," Padilla said, referring to her daughter with Dolphy.
Among the tracks optioned to be included in the album, the actress-singer said, was a song she wrote in memory of Dolphy, "pero lahat ng sinusulat ko hindi papasa."
Nevertheless, Padilla sang parts (see video above) of the composition titled "I Turn to You," the lyrics of which follows:
When the darkness sets in and the loneliness comes / All I feel from within turn from dusk into dawn. / All the memories and emptiness, betrayals, fears and bitterness / seem to vanish with each sweet caress.
I find solace in your promises / in a world that's filled with hate and love. / There's no safer place than in your arms. / You're my shelter from every storm, it's true. / I turn to you.
