MANILA, Philippines – Three of the six celebrity acts who competed in the third anniversary showdown of "It's Showtime" won P100,000 each for their chosen charity Saturday afternoon.
The tandems of Anne Curtis and Karylle; Jugs Jugueta and Teddy Corpuz; and Vhong Navarro and Billy Crawford were declared champions of the third edition of the noontime program's celebrity talent showdown.
The competition among the hosts of "It's Showtime" is held annually in celebration of the program's anniversaries.
All three winning acts garnered a perfect score of 10 from "hurados" Eula Valdez, Jericho Rosales, Maricel Soriano, and talent managers Alfie Lorenzo and Cornelia Lee (Tita Angge).
Curtis, last year's champion, and Karylle were earlier praised by the judges for their "buwis-buhay" circus performance last Monday. The two were seen doing aerial and underwater acrobatics, which "awed" judge Soriano.
Taking their cue from the worldwide hit "Gangnam Style," Jugueta and Corpuz were joined by Cristine Reyes Tuesday in their recreation of Korean pop star Psy's popular music video (seen above).
The tandem of Crawford and Navarro also wowed the "madlang people" Thursday, as they danced with lights after treating the ladies in the audience with their "sexy dance."
Ryan Bang and Kuya Kim, whose joint number on Wednesday spoofed Curtis' performance last year, earned an average score of 7.
Garnering an average score of 9, the team-up of Eric "Eruption" Tai, Coleen Garcia, and "Baby Joy" also performed Wednesday alongside popular Filipino athletes in a tribal/jungle-inspired number.
Vice Ganda and Jhong Hilario, who were joined by Paulo Avelino, also earned an average score of 9 for their drama film spoof on Friday.
Awarding the P100,000 check to each of the winning acts was ABS-CBN business unit head Laurenti Dyogi.
