Jessy, Matteo attend 'sensuality workshop'
MANILA, Philippines -- ABS-CBN stars Jessy Mendiola and Matteo Guidicelli underwent a "sensuality workshop" in preparation for their upcoming series "Precious Hearts Romances Presents: Paraiso."
According to Mendiola, the main purpose of the sensuality workshop is to make the actors more comfortable to each other.
In a press conference for "Paraiso" on Thursday, Mendiola admitted that she found the sensuality workshop difficult.

"Doon po sa sensulity workshop, what we do there was they put us in a room and then they made us stare at each other, parang magtitinginan kami. By that parang tinitignan namin kung ano ba ang pagkatao ng isa't isa. Pero hindi naman ibig sabihin ng sensual ay bastos na agad or daring na agad. Ang sensual lang kasi is to bring out the more passionate side of you," the young actress explained.
"So kami ni Matteo nasa room kami hindi kami nag-uusap, nagtitinginan lang kami. Kaming dalawa lang sa loob ng room. Hindi kami binabantayan ng instructor namin. Wala po talagang ibang tao. Dumating sa point na tawa na lang kami ng tawa. Wala nang magawa. Pero for me nahirapan po ako sa sensuality workshop kasi first time ko siya (si Matteo na katrabaho) at first time ko ring mag-sensulity workshop," Mendiola explained.
For Guidicelli, he believes that sensuality workshop really helped him to be more relaxed while doing his intimate scenes with Mendiola.
"Basically it's breaking the ice between two people. Kasi example, with 'PHR,' mahalaga 'yung mga intimate scenes, mga love scenes. Kasi how will you do these with a person you just met? Of course it's not very comfortable. Doon sa sensuality workshop, parang pini-prepare, how to break the ice na talagang (makikita mo na) mag-asawa na kami or we have the relationship for few years na," said Guidicelli.
The actor said they also watched several movies, including "The Blue Lagoon," the movie which launched Brooke Shields to international superstardom in the 1970s and has a setting similar to "Paraiso."
In "Paraiso," Guidicelli plays Brenan, a married businessman who gets shipwrecked on an island with a perfect stranger, Yani (played by Mendiola).
Romance blooms between Yani and Brennan on the island, setting off a series of twists and conflicts among its principal characters.
Formerly titled "Isla," "Paraiso" also stars actor Matt Evans, who plays Justin, Yani's best friend; and actress Jewel Mische as Megan, Brennan's dedicated wife.
"Paraiso" will premiere on November 5 replacing "Pintada."
