MANILA, Philippines - Actor Richard Gomez said he is excited to work again with former leading lady Dawn Zulueta.
Gomez sealed his comeback in the Kapamilya network when he signed a contract with ABS-CBN on Monday morning.
His first project is "Walang Hanggan," a television series with Zulueta.
"It's really nice kasi I haven't seen Dawn in a really long time. Hindi pa namin napag-usapan ang proyektong gagawin, sa [story conference pa lang kami] magkukuwentuhan," Gomez said.
"Alam mo maganda 'yung project and I think that is very important para kapag nakita ulit tayo sa ABS-CBN ay maganda ang maiaalay natin sa tao," he added.
What makes the project more special, Gomez said, is that his wife is a big fan of the Richard-Dawn love team.
"Well si Lucy (Torres), she's a big fan of Richard and Dawn. Si Lucy watched 'Hihintayin Kita sa Langit' more than 20 times. When she heard about it, she texted Dawn right away. Mas nauna pang na-text si Dawn kaysa sa akin," he said.
According to Gomez, "Walang Hanggan" is the TV version of "Hihintayin Kita sa Langit," his 1991 film with Zulueta.
Aside from Zulueta, the new series also stars Susan Roces, Helen Gamboa, Joem Bascon, Melissa Ricks, Paulo Avelino, Julia Montes and Prince of Indie Coco Martin.
Meanwhile, Gomez said he is also hoping to do a film with Megastar Sharon Cuneta.
"Hopefully one day, kapag may tamang project for the two of us. We'll see," he said.
